$140 · Antique Wicker Foldaway Sewing Cabinet From The 1920’s
Antique wicker foldaway sewing cabinet from the 1920's. This is a very rare and unique sewing cabinet, most likely made by the Edward Jansen Co. of New York. The cabinet is wicker with spooled wooden uprights and is compact and sturdy. There is a hinged lid on top and access to the drawers is achieved by rotating the section with the second and fourth drawer to the right, or counterclockwise. When open, the top section and the third drawer are on the left side and the second and fourth drawer are on the right side. While the footprint is small, the cabinet provides a lot of storage space. It stands approximately 32 ½ inches tall and, when closed is 17½ inches square. Unfortunately, this is not a piece that should be shipped.
