Antique pottery batter jug. Large batter jug used to make and store bread and pancake batter. Hand thrown in a dark brown glaze with two decorative bands at the top, and one around the middle in a subtle terracotta colour. A fine example of early Ontario 19th century earthenware.

Height: 10″ (25 cm)
Width: 7 1/2″ (19 cm) from spout to handle
Holds 3.5 litres (3 quarts)

Condition
Variances in the glaze during the manufacturing process commonly found on hand thrown early Ontario pottery. No chips, cracks or grazing.
