$50 · Antique silver-plated fish/dessert cutlery
Antique silver-plated fish/dessert cutlery. This 12-piece Victorian set of bone-handled cutlery (6 knives, 6 forks) was manufactured by Thomas Turner and Company in Sheffield, England, in the late 19th century. It is hallmarked on the back of each knife. The length of the knife blade is engraved with a delicate line of floral tracery and a scrolled element of the design is echoed on the fork. Both knives and forks have an embossed band of vines and berries, which join the bone handles to the silver-plated metal. This is a lovely set, in overall good used condition, which would add a heritage touch to the dinner table.
The knives are 8¾ inches (22.5 cm) long and the forks are 7¼ inches (18.5 cm) long.
