This Austin Productions horse by James Marshall is elegant and stately. It is marked and signed by the artist and was produced in the 1980's. Austin Productions was founded in 1952 in Brooklyn NY and moved to Holbrook NY in 1971 (operating as a museum reproduction company). The company stopped making sculptures so stock from this company and artist is limited and collectible.
According to his biography, James Marshall was born in Dallas Texas in 1937 and excels in sculpture of the west and in animal characterizations. He was educated in NY at the Arts Students League and New School. He divides his time between Dallas and New York. Many of his pieces are in private collections.
