$275 · Classic MARANTZ 26 Model TWENTY SIX Stereo Receiver TUBE SOUND
Works and sounds great, everything works on it.
Will be played for you.
Early Marantz model, audiophile unit, one of the best sounding vintage receivers, exceptionally sweet, very musical.
Solid state, but super close to the sound of 6V6 or EL84 tube amp, designed like tube amp, but with transistors
in place of tubes; Impressive clarity and depth.
It sounds better than many later higher power Marantz stereos, the likes of 2230, 2235B, 2240, etc.
Basic maintenance service done:
Taken apart, completely cleaned and detailed in and out, all controls and connectors deoxidized and lubed, tuner bearings lubed, DC balance adjustment done, bias voltages set to 5 mV, per factory specs. All parts including matched 2SD130 output transistors (same BL7 batch) are original on this Marantz.
Old lamps were upgraded by previous owner to virtually everlasting blue LED lights.
* Year of production: 1970
* 14 WPC RMS, those are old Marantz Watts, they go a long way, often louder than new millennium stereos rated at 70 Watts per side
* FM, AM, Aux, Tape, Phono
* High and low filters
* Volume, balance, bass, treble
* Headphones jack
* Rear label: 100W
* Circuit breaker protection (rare feature) and fuse protection
* Slim but very heavy, well crafted
I've been collecting vintage stereos for a long time, so trades for old Akai, Sony, Denon, NAD, Dynaco, Kenwood, Pioneer, Sansui, Rotel, Tannoy, Philips receiver, amplifier, CD player, speakers in any condition will be considered.
