Royal Doulton Bunnykins Barbara Vernon 2 Piece Set. This is a set of collectible Bunnykins china which includes a porridge and cereal bowl in related themes. The porridge bowl is a rare and heavy piece of a cricket scene by Barbara Vernon. It is signed on the front and has the early mark by Royal Doulton with the number 3 (Circa 1934-1937.) The cereal bowl is a winter skating scene (Circa 1967.)
Both plates have Bunnykins in red jackets, polka dots and a pink dress but were made at different times and with varying trademarks, reflecting early and recent versions made in England by Royal Doulton. Bunnykins was originally designed by a nun, sister Mary Barbara Vernon. Her name was seen on wares until the mid-1950's.
Porridge Bowl with Lip: Diameter 7 1/2" (19 cm) Height: 1 3/4" (4.4 cm)
Cereal Bowl: Diameter 6" (15 cm) Height: 2" (5 cm)
All in good vintage condition with the following variations:
Porridge Bowl: 1 inch glaze variation on the outer back rim of the bowl, minor crazing on the inside
