$65 · Victorian Salt-Glazed Syrup Pitcher With Pewter Lid
Victorian salt-glazed syrup pitcher with pewter lid. (Late 1800's) This cream-coloured pitcher has a relief design of lilies and foliage over the entire body. The pewter thumb-leaf finial and lid are intact and function well. There is a small notch on the left side of the handle, about one inch from the bottom of the handle. There is also a v-shaped hairline crack just to the left of the top of the handle. (However, we're not sure the camera will be able to pick up these minor flaws.) The details of the relief are crisp and, overall, this is a lovely piece of Victoriana. It measures 9 inches tall by 5 inches at its widest.
