$40 · Vintage Jay Flex sterling and rhinestone circle/wreath brooch. (Circa 1950)
The clear rhinestones are prong-set and brilliant. The circle is formed in two rows: the inner row consists of circle-cut rhinestones, the outer circle consists of tapered baguette rhinestones. The rollover safety clasp still works well. The wreath measures 2 inches in diameter. Jay Flex Jewelry Company began operating in Montreal, Canada, in the early 1930's and was known for its use of sterling instead of other base metals in its costume jewelry. The company went out of business in the mid-1960's.
