$65 · Whig Rose Antique Coverlet
This lovely Whig Rose antique coverlet has a loose weave and is 100% wool. This cheerful pattern was popular in the 19th century. It has a centre seam made when looms were smaller. Overshot coverlets were consequently woven in two panels and then hand sewn together to form a larger blanket. Found in Napanee, Ontario, it is an excellent example of an antique Canadian coverlet commonly used by our early settlers.
Length: 87″ (221 cm)
Width: 56″ (142 cm)
The coverlet is heavy and in good condition with no holes. There are however, a few areas where there are colour inconsistencies. For example, some areas are darker than others. Please refer to the photos for details.
