REQUIRED IMMEDIATELY Simluc Contractors Limited is a well-established ICI roofing company located at 2550 Blackwell Street in Ottawa. $20.00/hour, must have a Class “G” License and a current copy of a MTO driver’s abstract is required. Job Description: Shop Labourer/Fire Watch Person Reports to: Shop Supervisor Duties and Responsibilities: •Handle Materials – within the shop and outdoors as required •Perform Housekeeping Duties •Availability to work shift work and/or overtime •Must be punctual and possess a strong work ethic Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: •Basic reading and writing skills •Knowledge and respect of shop safety •Able to perform physically demanding work • Ability to communicate orally • Ability to work in cold environments Working Conditions: •This role you will be working and reporting to the shop on site •The person in this role can spend time outdoors, as roofing material is stored in the yard. The employee can be exposed to all weather conditions. Be prepared for cold temperatures in winter months. Conditions of Employment: •Must follow and support company rules and policies •Must follow company and provincial safety rules and regulations •Operate Basic Hand Tools and Powered Hand Tools. i.e. Drills, Disc Grinders etc. •Operate equipment as described in company procedures •Perform work safely and follow established work procedures •Not abuse equipment and report equipment that requires servicing or repair •Perform General Tasks as assigned by Supervisor Minimum Job Requirements: •G Class license required and must provide drivers abstract •8" Steel Toe Boots (CSA Green Triangle) •Suitable attire for shop environment and warm clothes for the winter •Availability to work shift work and/or overtime •Must be punctual and possess a strong work ethic FIRE WATCH PERSON DUTIES : •Constantly patrolling areas where “hot work” is being performed, maintaining vigilance of potential fires. •Use of handheld thermal scanner for accurate temperature reading to ensure there is no possible fire hazards •Constant contact with Health and Safety Coordinator at the beginning, half way and at the end of the fire watch •Being familiar with facilities and procedures in the event of a fire
