- Get what you didn't get for Christmas! - Everybody needs an antique blanket box. Use it as a hall bench, coffee table, or storage chest at the foot of the bed! I have four of them, two in grain-painted surface, two stripped and refinished. -- Photo #1 A grain-painted box in simulated red mahogany from which I removed a coat of yucky brown overpaint. The surface is 20" x 38" and the height 21" ($450). -- Photo #2: Another one in the original grain-painted surface, simulating rosewood. It came from Goodwood, ON. Surface dimensions 19" x 34" and height 17". Dovetailed, with the original cast iron handles ($450). -- Photo #3: A storage box made of old pine granary boards. The upholstered top is removable ($225). -- Photo #4: A fancy child's blanket box in honey pine ($325). -- Photo #5: An antique blanket box in blond finish. Cast iron handle and Lee Valley stays added for your convenience ($498). -- Photo #6: This one is newer and comes with a lock and key. It too has cast iron handles ($498). -- Photo #7: A reproduction box in pine that opens on two sides. Clean and completely refinished. Just the right size for a coffee table (plus storage).
