This digital moisture meter is a great tool for evaluating the condition of a used fiberglass boat. This model features the ability to provide direct readings of the moisture content of fiberglass (GRP). It is equally good at taking readings of the moisture content of all sorts of wood. This is a pinless meter, the type required for use with fiberglass. To use it, simply place the sensor pad (on the back of the unit) on a fiberglass or wood surface, and take the reading. The rear sensor pad reads up to a 4 cm (1.5-inch ) depth, and there is a digital display up to 9.9% for fiberglass and 99% for wood. Electronic Calibration for fiberglass, teak, meranti plywood, and balsa. There is a density chart for manual calibration for other types of wood. The unit is in excellent condition (like new). I only used it about a dozen times when I was shopping for a used sailboat about 8 or 9 years ago. It has been in storage ever since. This is a high quality device.
