Counterfeit! (The Talk)

Who can stop England's King of Counterfeiting? This is a FREE talk on counterfeiting, past and present. We tell the incredible story of England's "King of Counterfeiting", William Chaloner, and the efforts of Sir Isaac Newton to bring him to justice. We also show you how to tell if your own cash is counterfeit. A fascinating talk, given twice as follows: SATURDAY, APRIL 27 2:00pm, Bank of Canada Museum, 30 Bank St (FREE) SUNDAY, APRIL 28 2:00pm, MacKay United Church, 39 Dufferin Rd. (FREEWILL offering to the church) The talk is roughly 1.5 hrs in duration, allowing for questions and a display of artifacts. There will be coins from the 1600s on display, kindly lent by The Ottawa Numismatic Society. This talk is related to the play "Counterfeit!" to be performed May 11th by actor Pierre Brault and the Ottawa Baroque Consort. We will give away tickets to the play at the talk as a door prize.
