Selling a early 2000's JVC MX-J900 Mini System. This was the biggest and most powerful unit of its age and/or series. Its a Bi-amplified design, with a seperate amp for the mids and highs, and a 2nd seperate amp for the subwoofers. It has a 2" Tweeter, 3/4" Super tweeter, 7 7/8" (8") Woofer/mid-bass driver in each cabinet, as well as a 7 7/8" (8") Side-firing Subwoofer in each cabinet (in a seperate rear inner chamber that is ported out the front). This unit is big, its powerful, its loud, and plays a lot of bass with low effort (Main Volume goes up to 30, but we never ran the unit beyond 20-22, and the Subwoofer volume goes up 8 settings, and again, we used it on 5 or 6 out of 8...we simply didn't need to, because this stereo is so loud for it's size). I am the 2nd owner of this stereo since it was new, and I have recently had the unit and speakers apart to clean them, and lubricate all of the moving parts in the main/amp component. The volume and subwoofer knobs turn freely and accurately, the cd changer all works (3 drawers) and loads and unloads smoothly, the tape decks open and close smoothly and they both work. The rotating front control panel also works properly again, and spins smoothly. It also has a an auxillary input and output, a optical audio output, headphone jack and an am loop antenna. This unit would be great for a teenager, college residence, workshop, cottage, garage or basement. It sounds like a full sized stereo, without taking up the same amount of space. I actually used it as a stereo for my garage, but I had to downsize for additional space. You can connect an Mp3 player, VCR, DVD player, or Bluetooth (stream a cell phone or tablet over Bluetooth via the AUX input). These machines retailed between $700 and $1000 when they were new. Because the unit doesn't have a remote and it's not in mint condition, I am selling it for the asking price of $80, or best offer. Text, or call if interested, as well for a demo.
