The Trek Silque 6 is a high-end road bicycle with a "women's specific design" (WSD). The WSD frame geometry on this bicycle is designed to be more comfortable for women, who tend to have longer legs and shorter torsos. It also has handlebars that are more proportional to a women's arms and hands. As one of Treks' high-end models, this bike has a full carbon frame as well as a full Shimano 11 speed Ultegra groupset. It is in excellent condition and shows little signs of wear. It was used very lightly by my wife. The Silque 6 incorporates Trek's "IsoSpeed" technology - the seat posts is connected to the frame with a special coupler that dampens vibrations and helps absorb bumps in the road. This bike also has a number of other interesting features such as a built-in chain keeper (helps keep the chain from falling off the chainring), a built-in speed and cadence sensor ("DuoTrap" sensor), a carbon seat post, and a tapered head tube. The bike is fitted with a newer lightweight Mavic Aksium wheelset (less than 400 km on these wheels). The internal width of the rims on these wheels is 19mm, which can handle wider tires. The bike has newer 28 mm wide Vittoria tires. The bike also has clearance for tires up to 30mm wide. (In recent years there has been a strong trend to wider tires for road bikes for increase comfort.) The 11 speed Ultegra cassette has 11 - 32 teeth. The Ultegra double chainrings has 50 - 34 teeth (compact crank). The frame is a beautiful dark mauve colour. The bike has two matching dark mauve Bontrager (Trek) water bottle holders.
